CURRENTLY RECRUITING

The Malta National Children’s Choir welcomes new members throughout the year. If your child is aged five to fifteen and enjoys singing or shows musical promise, this is a wonderful opportunity to develop their talent in a supportive and inspiring environment. The choir presents an exciting programme of exclusive concerts and performances, including the much-loved Annual Magical Christmas Concert, as well as other artistic projects and collaborations.

Rehearsals and auditions take place at San Ġorġ Preca College Maria Regina Middle School, Blata l-Bajda, with lessons held every Monday and Wednesday from 18:30 to 19:30.

​

The audition process is straightforward and welcoming, students aged five to fifteen. During the audition, the conductor listens for vocal quality, pitch accuracy, musical awareness, and the ability to work cooperatively with peers. No prior musical experience is required, as particular importance is placed on intonation, teamwork, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for singing.

The Malta National Children’s Choir (MNCC) was established in 2016 and has since evolved into one of Malta’s leading children’s choirs. The choir harnesses the power and joy of music to unite Malta’s diverse communities and inspire social change. Comprising talented singers aged five to fifteen from across Malta and Gozo, the choir welcomes children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, fostering accessibility, inclusivity, teamwork and artistic growth within a supportive and professional environment.

The MNCC provides young people with the opportunity to explore music and expand their musical and performance skills to the highest level of their interest and ability. Through hard work, dedication and passion, children and teenagers come together to develop as world-class singers, transcending social barriers in a celebration of shared humanity and love for music. The choir encourages its members to uphold discipline, commitment, and exemplary behaviour and attendance, reflecting the values of respect, responsibility and community that underpin its ethos.

Rehearsals take place throughout the year, as the choir prepares for a range of performances and artistic projects, including the much-loved Annual Magical Christmas Concert, one of its most anticipated events. The MNCC has also collaborated widely with professional artists, composers, choreographers and production teams, offering members valuable stage experience across diverse musical, theatrical and cultural genres. The choir has performed extensively across Malta and internationally, most notably appearing alongside the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and taking part in the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Disneyland Paris with an on-stage performance in 2019.

The Malta National Children’s Choir is proud to be a non-governmental organisation registered with the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, registration number VO/11487/18.
